What about email lists...(I'm confused about what to do and who can I trust)?
Big question! We consult with entrepreneurs and business people regarding marketing using email mailing lists. There are a lot of considerations and the best advice we can give is to call us and we will be glad to share what we know on the subject. I noticed that you allow people to "opt-in" to receive opportunity related info. What is this all about and what do you do with the opt-in names and addresses?
We give them away. In other words, if people are sincerely looking for a way to make money, we allow them to opt-in in our Guest book area and they can fill out a form and we then add them to our opt-in database. We then make those names available without charge to those who need to recruit people for opportunities. We hope that it's a win/win situation for all concerned. We add the opt-ins to the lists that we sell as free bonus names to give those looking for an opportunity a chance to look at as many opportunities as possible.

names as follows:
US Names and addresses are replaced on a 5 to 1 basis. Most other companies will say that all sales are final
and in fact you are on your own after the sale. We want you to be satisfied and interested
in how your campaign went and we offer our clients a choice
of replacement options. Your feedback is valuable as it helps us to better serve you
and monitor the quality of our lists and our sources.
Please note that we sometimes have a limited number of Canadian names. Since these are more difficult to acquire, we will replace Canadian names (when available) that are undeliverable on a one-for-one basis. Also, if you purchased a list of names from a specific geo-area, replacements for that area will be provided if available, and from other geographic areas as needed when providing replacements.
I am involved in an MLM program, but am not satisfied with my income. How can I find out about other programs - can you put me on one of you opportunity lists or add me to your database?
Yes. For sometime now, we have received a steady
stream of requests from people who want to be added to our databases because they want to
receive opportunity offers. So here's what we have done. If you want to receive
Opportunity and/or MLM offers and info, just go to our Guest Book - Opt-in page...it's
also accessible from the HOME page.
Once your in the Guest Book, you can either add your name and contact info to our
Guest Book for all to see, OR, you can fill in the blanks on a small form and we will be

I need some advice regarding how I can set-up my own web site and start my own business - can you help me?
I'm going to comment in some length as we receive this question in one form or the other just about every other day from a client from people who just call to ask for information and advice.
When we first started our
business, we were just selling leads and names. We had in effect a self-imposed
type of tunnel vision. I eventually realized that our clients were not in the
business of buying leads, they
wanted the tools such as good leads and lists, but also needed a source for
competent and reliable how-to information. People want to succeed in business and make money and need
to know who to do it.
So, I researched and read a lot of books...we offer some of them (the better
ones) in our on-line bookstore.
More importantly though, I found a real world example - a real person who has
succeeded with his own on-line businesses.
I'm a hands on person and found that I learned best not from a book that is full
of untested theory...although
marketing theory certainly has it's place...I needed to learn in a
"hands-on" manner from someone I could trust.
That's the real problem today...finding someone you can trust, so you know that
you aren't wasting your time AGAIN with just another bunch of useless
stuff. Somewhat out of desperation, I purchased an internet marketing
course...it's been over a year now. I read the first of two huge packed binders
of real concrete how-to examples and found that the marketing tools and
information really made a difference.
I believe that the author, Corey Rudl has the utmost integrity and I can
recommend his marketing course and information without any hesitation
whatsoever....just because we bought his course and for me, it made the
difference between success and failure. I refer to it just about every 2 weeks
and have had the course for a year. He and his marketing center, deserve the
highest praise. So, if you want to succeed with your own on-line business...the
good news is that you can do it. The best news is that you can learn to do it
right and you don't
have to go it alone on a trial-and-error basis.
The main benefit that you'll get from the tools that Corey makes available is that you can learn to automate your business so that you don't get mired in the day-to-day details. This is of the utmost importance because you'll only succeed if you can devote 90% of your time and energy to marketing as opposed to maintenance activities.
I'd stay away from the so called "profit" oriented malls and get rich quick promises made by email marketers and just pattern after those who are successful and who stand behind their words and can prove what they are talking about based on their successes and accomplishments. Theory is great, but in business, real accomplishments speak louder to me than all the theory in the world.
So, rather than toot my own horn, my advice is to learn from someone like Corey, who has succeeded and avoid making costly mistakes. In other words, proper planning and getting an understanding of how to set things up the first time, so that a lot of the work is taken care of automatically will really pay off for you both in the short term and the long term. After checking out Corey's marketing tips, I'd recommend that you find a way to
test your new product
or service in a way that doesn't involve spending thousands of dollars. Corey's
material will help you with
a lot of what I am going to comment on here too. There are low-cost ways to test
to see if your idea will fly without going broke. Paying careful attention to the expense side is as
important as knowing how to set up your business and market effectively. At the same time, you don't want to
be penny-wise and pound foolish.
In other words, your time is important and perhaps when your starting a new business, your time is your most precious commodity. Therefore, any tools that you can find that will save you time, will probably pay for themselves many times over in the long run. Stay tuned for more real-world tips! I don't know what types of lists there are that I can choose from.
There are two basic types of lists - broad categories, if you will that most lists will fall into. The first is a respondent list. This type of list is made up of names who have responded to opportunity related offers, including MLM, home business and business opportunity related advertising or offers.
The second type of list can be described as a compiled list. A compiled list is usually a compilation derived from various sources that can include directories, phone books, registries, public and private records, government records and even credit bureaus.
Where does APS get opportunity seeker/mlm/home business leads?
We develop some of our leads in-house. Our Opportunity related leads are respondents to blind advertising and promotions - names who have responded to opportunity related offers, etc. Secondly, we source from advertisers that we have developed a relationship with...we have seen their ads and the literature that respondents receive. Therefore, we can attest to the quality of our leads first-hand. Thirdly, for high volume orders, we do enjoy dealer status with a limited number of quality sources that we trust. Given our approach, we can address the needs of most mailers in terms of quantity as well as quality.
We have spoken with many individuals who are constantly searching for an honest vendor and who are tired of the poor quality of the leads that are mostly offered by middle-men vendors and even brokers. In all candor, if you order opportunity/mlm/home business leads from a source who cannot tell you how the leads were developed, you are probably just getting old or over-used leads. We have found that most of the respondent leads that are sold, and re-sold, and re-sold, by various vendors/brokers are not very good. That is why we obtain our leads directly from those who do the advertising or from our own advertising campaigns. This means we have actually seen the ads that are run and the advertising copy that individual respondents have read.
So, we can absolutely state that our leads are among the best as we know how they were developed or we actually placed the ads and developed the leads in-house! So, our leads are purchased directly from those who do the advertising or the leads are those that we have acquired from our own advertising in National Print Media.

Postage is expensive. How do I know I'll get my money's worth and are your lists free of nixies?
It may be impossible to have a mailing list that is 100% free of undeliverables or "nixies" as they are sometime called. We do our best to make sure that your names are deliverable. As a matter of fact, our respondent/opportunity names and addresses through CASS software so that addresses are corrected using Post Office approved address abbreviations and names in most addresses will have zip-4 codes included.
The fact that we have invested in CASS software and stay current with the latest releases is just one way that we attempt to eliminate undeliverables. Our customer's satisfaction is our main concern. Therefore, APS offers PostagePlus+. We will replace any undeliverable respondent address rovided from our lists on a 5 to 1 basis. Optionally, we may choose to replace your entire list free of charge.
What about names with telephone numbers - do you guarantee the telephone numbers, etc.?
We have found that even when we source a Business
or Specialized Business list from a major list compiler, telephone numbers
are not guaranteed.
This is because of the way area codes often change and this does affect
telephone numbers provided
with lists. Major list compilers do not guarantee telephone numbers
provided with compiled business lists due to the constant splits in area codes and
resulting prefix changes. These changes also affect our respondent lists.
Therefore, we do not guarantee phone numbers from our respondent lists. On the
other hand, APS does guarantee addresses in accordance with our replacement
policy.
Can you provide me with names from a
particular State when I order? If you can, how can I let you know
that this is what I want to do?
If you want to obtain names from a particular State, we will allow you to select two States on any list of 500 names or more. However, the reality is hat it is truly a matter of luck if we have names available in a particular State. This is because the response to any Nationwide print ad cannot be predicted as to who will respond and where they may reside.
To request names for a particular State or States, after placing an order online, just send an email to info@leadlists.com to advise us that you wish to have us select names from a particular State or States.
Please keep in mind, that in the event that we need to replace nixies and we have provided you with names from a particular area or State, we will try to replace your names from your original preferred area. But if current names are not available, your replacement names may be from an area other than your preferred area.
Do you provide opportunity seeker lists that contain respondents from countries other than the United States?
At this time most of our respondents reside in the U.S. and some lists will have a few names from Canada. We do not have respondents from other countries at this time as advertising is placed in print media that enjoys a domestic and Canadian distribution.
Do you ship lists to other countries (not the U.S.)?
We prefer to send non-domestic
orders via email as the cost to ship outside the U.S. is very high and our
we only charge the minimum for shipping and handling.
Why are your list prices so low?
This question has been posed a few times to us by some experienced and novice list buyers alike.
In all honesty, we feel like we will need to raise our prices to cover the expense of the value added features that we provide. We do replace names and will reimburse postage. We do CASS certify our mailing lists addresses. We will verify telephone numbers. We do ship our lists via Priority Mail...not by first class. This all adds up, so you can look for a price increase to go into effect shortly.

I've noticed several similar web sites that have the same description as LeadLists.com. Can you tell me if these are managed by APS or leadlists and if not, why are they the same?
Competing companies often-times rely on
search engines to drive traffic to their web sites. We have noticed
the same "cloning" if you will of our web sites. Our content and
keywords, etc. are copyrighted, but that
doesn't seem to keep others from appropriating winning copy or attempting to use
our key information in an
attempt to improve their rankings. If you notice other websites/companies have "appropriated" our descriptions in whole or
part in some of their web site descriptions including descriptions that appear

can do so and names can be shared with business partners, etc.
The guiding principle is that a mailing
list name should only be mailed to, or called
one time, other than for follow-up
when the person contacted has requested additional information
or responded to your initial offer.
What is the Secure Order Form used for?
The secure online order form can be used to order opportunity seeker-mlm lists. What are your prices for other types of
Lists - like Business lists?
Prices for compiled or specialized business lists will be quoted on per
list basis and will vary based on selection criteria, etc. Quotes are provided on request
on a no-obligation basis.
Will a compiled Business list be 100% free of undeliverables?
In all candor, we only source from recognized and established list compilers. Our primary compiler passes their databases through address correction software, so the number of deliverables should be reduced. They use CASS certification software that insures that addresses meet U.S. Postal Standards. But, if you expect any list to be totally free of undeliverables, I would suggest that is not a reasonable expectation.
What if we need a business list that is more sophisticated - that involves selection of specific types of prospects and selection by segments within a database - is this possible?
Yes. We are a registered with one of the best sources for compiled Business lists in the U.S. We are also registered as a broker/re-seller with Dun and Bradstreet. This means that we have access to just about every type of business list that you might need. For example, if you wanted to mail to manufacturers and/or distributors, and needed to mail to the CEO or CFO or President of companies located in the US, and only target companies with sales in excess of 20 million per year, we can provide you with that type of list.
